The Littleton Public Schools Board of Education recently recognized several staff members for their recognition at the state and national levels. Amber Hall, Littleton High, has been named 2009 New Teacher of the Year by the Mountain Plains Business Education Association. She was also named 2009 New Teacher of the Year by the Colorado Association of Career and Technical Education. Joe Holliman, Arapahoe High, has been selected as the 2009 State Art Educator of the Year by the Colorado Art Education Association. Brian Kula and Jill Mullarkey, Littleton High, were selected as the 2009 All-Colorado Boys and Girls Track and Field Coaches of the Year. Steven Newell, Sandburg Elementary, was named 2009 Top Technology Teacher by the Colorado Software and Internet Association. Also recognized were Senior Citizen Tax Rebate program participants who were celebrating their 10-year anniversary. Tommie Coleman volunteers at the Education Services Center in the volunteer office. Austin Coryell has volunteered at Ames, Sandburg, Centennial and Newton. He has volunteered just about everywhere and has given more than 20,000 hours to LPS. Nancy Minerly, known as the “library lady”, volunteers in the libraries of Hopkins, Runyon and East. Ron Watson volunteers with small groups of third grade students at Runyon.
